did you know?

  • Solicitors claiming to be associates of eBay, PayPal, banking institutions and credit unions, and other such types of online firms routinely send fake email claiming that there are issues with your accounts in hopes of obtaining credit card information, Social Security Numbers, and other forms of identification that will assist in the facilitation of identity theft.

Reputable companies will never send email requesting this kind of information. Internet Security Suites and updated web browsers have built-in fraud protection that applies mostly to web surfing, and while the software does a better job of protecting you from fraudulent email messages than having no protection at all, if you want to stay safe from the scans, it really comes down to having the knowledge to properly identify the fraudulent messages as they come in.

Not sure if a message you received is legitimate? Forward the questionable email to us and we'll let you know if it's the real deal.
